Thursday 29th June 2017 Walk Report

Around 16 of us set off from the Wharf Inn at Welford on what was billed as a 5 mile walk  but which turned into something akin to a Magical Mystery Tour probably finishing up being neare 61/2 miles.
It has always been my belief that when undertaking any form of organised activity that one one should remember the "Seven P's" which are:-
"Proper Prior Preparation and Planning Prevent Poor Peformance"

Sadly our organisers on the day had not attended the same training courses as I had and shall we say that not having a map, walking the route in reverse direction to the reccy walk and having the person with most route knowledge acting as back marker lead to some interesting diversions and back tracking en route.
However we did have an entertaining walk with good easy stretches along the Grand Union Canal, the weather was ideal for walking and no one fell in the canal.

Finally arriving back at the Wharf Inn we were joined by Robert and Rosemary W and Robert's sister who  had travelled all the way across the Atlantic to be with us.
.Such is the fame of KDRC worldwide

It has to be said that the Wharf offers excellent value for money with good quality and large helpings of food for £6.00 which is a real bargain in this day and age.

Thanks to Keith B  for organising and sort of leading the walk and Lou L for acting as back marker and back seat navigator.
