Saturday 5th January 2019 Walk Report.

18 walkers met in the car park of the Piper in Kettering for our first walk of 2019 including three visitors and four dogs. Weather was cold and cloudy but thankfully not as frosty as day before.
Visitors were Sheri C and the chairman's two sons Iain and Alastair.

We walked passed the Ise Lodge skate park and across what is shown on maps as "The Wilderness" to the A6 after crossing which we turned left up Barton Hill then near the top turned onto a path much frequented by dog walkers.

After passing St. Botolph's church we crossed Polwell Lane and skirted the back of Wicksteed Park and circumnavigated the fishing lake then walked up to the top of the park and like the Grand Old Duke of York walked back down again pausing for our banana break.

We made our way back towards the A6 and re-traced our way back via the Wilderness to the Piper where we were joined by John C and Glyn W for an excellent lunch.

Thanks to Gloria S for organising and leading this walk and Vonnie Mc for acting as back marker.
